The Constable Talk Boost project was funded by the Constable Educational Trust to support primary-aged children with difficulties speaking and understanding language in five London local authorities.
Through this project, training will be provided to practitioners in at least 60 primary schools across 5 local authorities so that they can deliver two I CAN interventions: Talk Boost Key Stage 1 and Talk Boost Key Stage 2
Talk Boost KS1 is a targeted intervention for 4-7 year old children with difficulties speaking and understanding language, including children in Reception classes. The programme aims to boost children’s progress in speaking and understanding language by an average of 9-18 months after a ten-week intervention.
The TBKS1 training consists of two online training sessions, on consecutive days, lasting 2 – 2 ½ hours each and requires the attendance of two staff members from each setting (1 Teacher & 1 TA ideally from the same class).

Talk Boost KS2 is a targeted intervention aimed at 7-10 year old children with difficulties speaking and understanding language. It aims to boost children's skills so they can catch up with their peers, after an eight week intervention.
The TBKS2 training consists of two online training sessions, on consecutive days, lasting 2 – 2 ½ hours each and requires the attendance of two staff members from each setting (1 Teacher & 1 TA ideally from the same class).
