About Meath, a Speech and Language UK School

Meath is one of a very few schools in the UK which is tailor made for young learners with speech and language challenges. The school and residential settings have been recognised repeatedly as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted since 2008.

Our exciting and stimulating learning environment supports children to Talk, Learn and Grow, with a curriculum co-designed by teachers and Speech and Language Therapists. We also offer home from home tailored residential support which provides a safe and nurturing environment for pupils to develop independence, social and self-care skills.

About Speech and Language UK

We are Speech and Language UK – we want every child to face the future with confidence. For 1.7 million children in the UK, learning to talk and understand words feel like an impossible hurdle. Without the right help, this can destroy their world. They feel disconnected from their family. Unable to make friends. Unfairly punished for not following instructions they don’t understand. What does the future hold for them?

To apply, please submit your completed application form to SBM@meathschool.org.uk by midday on Monday 7th November 2022. You can download the application pack below.

Meath works within the government’s Covid-19 guidelines.

We serve children and young people from all backgrounds and strive to represent the same diversity in our workforce. We strongly believe there is unity in diversity and are committed to create an inclusive working environment for all. We are under-represented by people who are from ethnic minority backgrounds and those who identify as being from the LGBTQ+ community. We particularly welcome applications from all suitably qualified people from these backgrounds. If you are excited about making an impact in children’s lives, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that we will not close applications before this time and date as we recognise that candidates put in a lot of time and effort into making an application and we want to give each of you the time and space to put in an application you feel proud of.

We are committed to safer recruitment practices and to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to positive written references and an enhanced DBS and barred list check.
