Thank you for showing interest in joining us as a Specialist Occupational Therapist at Meath School. We are looking for a dynamic, adaptable, and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated Occupational Therapy team.

Meath School is an outstanding school that caters for pupils aged 4-11years with severe/complex Speech and Language Disorders, some of whom have a variety of co-existing conditions including Sensory Processing Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Autistic Spectrum Disorders and moderate learning difficulties.

At Meath School we are committed to enabling our pupils to function as independently and effectively as possible within the school environment, to enable their access to the curriculum and to promote meaningful engagement in school-based tasks. We aim to consider the holistic needs of each child when working to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Your role will encompass assessment of children with diverse presentations to identify sensory, physical, social, and environmental barriers that impede function. With support from a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will plan and deliver individualised intervention programmes to enable learning and meaningful engagement in school-based tasks. You will work with children individually or in small groups in specialist treatment areas and within classroom-based sessions. Duties will include advising and collaborating with parents/carers and the multi-disciplinary team comprising of Speech and Language Therapists, educational staff and Physiotherapists.

We work closely with our residential team, Family Support Worker and Speech and Language UK’s onsite Assessment Centre, as well as visiting Physiotherapists. Ours is a unique setting where cohesive collaboration is integral and celebrated.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Liane Hall Lead Occupational Therapist on 01932 872302 or email liane.hall@meathschool.org.uk . To find out more about Meath School and Speech and Language UK please visit www.meathschool.org.uk  and www.speechandlanguageuk.org.uk
