Fundraise at work
Take a break from the everyday tasks, embrace your team spirit, and raise awareness of children struggling to talk and understand words.
Fundraising at work is a fantastic opportunity to encourage team building, have fun with your colleagues, and get to know everyone a little better! Who knew that Steve from finance was a master baker?
Getting started with your fundraising
It could be as simple as having a dress colour theme for the day, or holding a sweepstake, bake-off, sponsored silence or mini sports tournament. Come up with your own ingenious fundraising ideas or check out some of our challenge events.
You can set up your online fundraising with our JustGiving page to collect donations and track your progress.
Championing the cause internally
Raising awareness can be just as important as raising funds. Be the champion for Speech and Language UK in your workplace. Share our mission with your team and managers, and encourage them to get involved. Start by organising small fundraising activities and build momentum towards bigger initiatives.
Share your stories
If you or someone you know has experience of communication challenges, sharing these personal stories can be a powerful way to highlight the importance of our cause. Real-life examples resonate deeply and can inspire others to support our mission.
Your efforts could pave the way for Speech and Language UK to be considered for Charity of the Year or other types of corporate partnerships.
Boosting your efforts
Ask your employer
Check if your company has charity donation pots or matched giving schemes. You may find that your boss will match any funds you raise to double your donation!
Payroll giving
Don’t have time to organise anything? An easy way to support children and young people is to donate directly from your salary. Payroll giving (aka Give As You Earn) is a simple and tax-effective way to donate to charity. Find out more about this low-effort, high-impact way to help on our payroll giving page.
