Philanthropy

As a major donor, you could transform the lives of thousands of children and young people.

Most of us take being able to talk and understand words for granted. We don’t think about what our life would be like if we found this difficult. But 1.9 million children struggle with this very thing, and their prospects are dire.

Without help, they are 6 times less likely to pass basic English tests, 11 times less likely to pass Maths, and twice as likely to both have mental health problems and be out of work as an adult. Children living in socio-economically deprived areas are at a greater  risk.

But it doesn’t have to be this way, and your involvement is crucial – you could ensure that we are on hand to help children like Darcie.

Darcie's story

Darcie is just one of the many children living with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD). Watch our video below to understand more about how this affects her everyday life.
A classroom setting with three children wearing school uniforms. The child in the foreground is wearing a maroon sweater and white collared shirt, seated at a desk with arms crossed. In the background, two other children are also seated at desks, one partially visible and the other facing away from the camera. The environment suggests a focus on education and learning.

We will take care of you, too.

We will work closely with you to ensure your cherished support makes the greatest possible difference to the children and families we serve. We will offer guidance on tax-free giving; we will provide regular updates on projects and services you are supporting. You will have exclusive previews of our reports and campaigns; you will have an open invite to our events. And you will always know that you have significantly helped the children grappling with talking and understanding words, and their families.
