The Bill Harrison Assessment Centre in Nottinghamshire
Our assessment centre in Nottinghamshire is currently undertaking assessments for potential pupils at our school only. This involves prior consultation of a child’s EHCP and relevant paperwork (usually from the local authority) prior to deciding if we can offer an assessment.
Assessments for admissions at Dawn House School
These are currently a one day assessment carried out (on Wednesdays) by the assessment team, a Specialist Teacher and a Speech and Language Therapist, prior to an offer of placement at Dawn House School. The assessment does not automatically guarantee a place at our school.
For all Dawn House School admissions enquiries please visit Dawn House School’s website here.
After the assessment
We meet for a panel meeting and then give telephone feedback following the assessment and provide a detailed report. This is sent to the local authority and parents with recommendations based on the child or young person’s strengths, areas of need and barriers to learning within three to four weeks.
