What was in your school bag?
A textbook covered with sticky backed plastic, a Berol handwriting pen, a carefully chosen lunchbox. Whether your school days were ten years ago or fifty, we bet your memories of them are still going strong – from school milk to overhead projectors, blackboards to cycling proficiency, to shiny new shoes.
Right now, millions of children across the country are starting to pack their rucksacks for the new school year. Lots of children will be looking forward to making school memories of their own this autumn, to making friends, learning, having fun.
But for children with speech and language challenges, school can spark anxiety, not excitement. Without the right support and tools, too often they risk missing out on their education altogether. Unfairly punished, misunderstood, falling behind in class. This isn’t right. But this summer, you can make a difference.
