Role Overview
We are for a dedicated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to join our outstanding multi-disciplinary team. You’ll support pupils aged 5–19 with severe and complex speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), both in and out of the classroom.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, integrated setting where education, therapy, and care go hand-in-hand to help children flourish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) in planning and delivering therapy sessions for individuals and groups.
  • Support students in classrooms and therapy settings, under guidance from SLTs.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions using WriteUpp and manual systems.
  • Assist with therapy resources, displays, and equipment.
  • Contribute to assessments and pupil progress discussions.
  • Participate in developing communication-friendly environments and whole school initiatives.
  • Deliver dysphagia support under supervision and contribute to safeguarding and multi-agency collaboration

What we are looking for

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) at Level 4/5 or above in numeracy/literacy.
  • Experience working with children or young people in any setting
  • Strong communication, listening, and IT skills.
  • Flexible, reflective, and able to follow instructions with attention to detail.
  • Committed to safeguarding, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
