Talk Boost KS1 Members

As part of the evidence-led approach to all our work we review our data from time to time.  As the new online scoring system for our Talk Boost KS1 intervention has now been running for a year we have reviewed the data and made an adjustment to the bandings.  This has resulted in some adjusted bandings which you will see reflected in the summary graphs for the KS1 tracker data.  We have made this adjustment to the online system and have revised the printed and online content.

The questions and scoring in TBKS1 have not changed and you still undertake the assessment in the same way as previously. The bandings on the online tracker are automatically readjusted and so if you are entering scores online then there is no need for you to do anything, the system will automatically calculate the scores and assign them Red/Amber/ Green. 

If you are manually calculating the scores using the paper versions of the tracker then you will need to use the updated versions, which can be found here:

These PDFs can be printed and placed into your Teacher / Intervention Manual to replace the ones currently there. Please note that for the online tracker these changes work retrospectively, so any reports that have been generated previously will now be recalculated using the new bandings.

Talk Boost KS1 Videos

Here are two films of Talk Boost KS1 and the Progression Tool being used in a setting. The films are intended to show Talk Boost KS1 in action in order to support your training and promote discussion amongst participants. They are not intended as examples of best practice but do show how a session runs and how the progression tool can be administered.

Licensed Tutors can use these films in any way they wish to support the existing training for Talk Boost KS1  but should bear in mind that the timing of the training will need to be adjusted accordingly.

The films are hosted on Vimeo so unless you are certain you will have access to the internet when you deliver your training you will need to download the films to a memory stick or on to your hard drive.
